ABOUT PAST SYMPOSIA ON FLOW ANALYSIS
FLOW ANALYSIS was started in 1979, first held in Amsterdam. The International Conference on Flow Analysis is held approximately every 3 years, with the host country and organizers selected by the Scientific Committee at the previous conference.
FLOW ANALYSIS
Conferences have been held in (I) Amsterdam, the Netherlands 1979; (II) Lund,
Sweden, 1982; (III) Birmingham, UK, 1985; (IV) in Las Vegas, NV, USA; (V)
Kumamoto, Japan, 1991; (VI) in Toledo, Spain, 1994; (VII) Piracicaba, Brazil,
1997; (VIII) Warsaw, Poland, 2000; (IX) Geelong, Australia, 2003; (X) Porto,
Portugal, 2006. (XI) Mallorca, Spain, 2009.
Next will take place in Thessalonica, Greece, 2012
FLOW ANALYSIS comprises numerous techniques that encompass much of what we do as analytical chemists. It includes operations and techniques such as segmented, continuous, stopped, sequential, multi-commutated, multi-syringe, multi-pumping flow, chromatography, and electrophoresis. Flow methods are used for handling and treating solutions, and for separations, and are applicable for all sorts of wet chemical operations and measurements. They provide rapid, precise, and automated measurements, using small samples, with low reagent consumption.
FLOW ANALYSIS, in many forms, will continue to evolve as important aspects of analytical science and will certainly remain an important venue for fostering interactions and novel developments in this area, reporting of the latest research worldwide, including theory of flow analysis, instrumentation development (which includes new detectors and hybrid systems), and applications in industrial, environmental, and clinical analysis.

A special issue of Analytica Chimica Acta will be devoted to the symposium. All manuscripts will be subject to the usual refereeing procedure and only innovative papers will be published. The manuscripts must be written according to the Guide for Authors (available via http://ees.elsevier.com/aca) and submitted on-line via the journal's home-page: http://ees.elsevier.com/aca, selecting the Article Type Flow Analysis 2009. Detailed instructions for on-line submission will be supplied by the publisher well before the symposium is held.
Dead-line for papers submission: 18 October 2009 |
